Our comprehensive programme covers a wide range of activities designed to strengthen your speaking abilities. From impromptu speaking exercises to prepared speeches, speech evaluations, debates, and even light-hearted entertainment, we offer a diverse set of opportunities for you to practice and refine your public speaking skills.

FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens at the meetings? 

A: You will be offered the chance to speak during our meeting with a ‘warm-up’ and also our impromptu topics, where we’ll give you chance to speak for up-to 3 minutes with zero preparation time GULP! Members can practice an upcoming presentation or speech. 

Q: What are the people like? 

A: Due to us all starting from a similar place, you’ll find the atmosphere and people are as supportive as can be. This is something we pride ourselves on. But it goes without saying, you will never be mocked or ridiculed, even if you mess up your lines! 

Q: Do I HAVE to speak? 

A. No, you can just observe if you prefer. Just say ‘pass’ and no judgment is made, we just keep moving to the next person. You can build up confidence at your own pace. 

Q: How much does it cost? 

A: We have membership or pay as you go options. 

PAYG - £5 per meeting 

Members - £2 per meeting 

Membership is £50 annually. 

First meeting is half price for Students. 

Those suffering financial hardships could receive further discount (Please speak with a member of the committee) 

Q: What are we supposed to talk about? 

A: You can speak about anything you like, with the exception of sex, politics or religion. We do not accept foul language or discrimination. On the other hand, it’s not really about ‘what’ you say - we’ll be helping you to improve ‘how’ you do it. 

Q: Do you hold training sessions? 

A: Yes, we hold regular masterclasses in:

Speech construction 

Body language 

Audience rapport and more...
